$50 for an old GE stove, plain white, not even stainless steel.

2 emails within an hour. first guy showed up in an hour. didn't even haggle. took us about 1/2 an hour to help move it to his truck.
came back and another 2 emails were in my inbox.

guess he got a good deal.

Good deal or not, at least it's out of your house right? I love putting stuff on CL for offing stuff, and quick.

Yep. Pretty much if it is a functioning appliance, you can probably sell it for $100. Dishwashers, stoves, fridges, clothes washers, clothes dryers, etc. All go for near $100 used if they work. No matter how ugly. I often start at $100, let them haggle me down a bit and am just happy to get it out of my house. I've never tried really maximizing the price though.

Since you can get a new stove for $278, I never did understand buying a used one.

If I'm bothering to sell something on Craigslist, I always price it very cheap in the hope that I'll get at least 5 quick responses. Given the flakiness of the standard Craigslist user, you're lucky to have 1 out of 5 actually show up.

yup, just happy to get something for it.
contractors were about to move it to the dumpster yesterday but i told them to hold off.

Used appliances go quick. We have a couple places here in tow that are crazy busy because they fix up and sell old appliances.

yeah, exactly the reason i priced it at $50.
i know i would pay an extra $200 for a new one.

I posted 3 piece of furniture on CL a few weeks ago and said they were free. Posted pics of them and nothing wrong with them, we just got all new living room furniture and had no where for these couches tables and chairs.

I also threw out some old screen doors and screen windows and a wood pallet that our grass came on.

The screen windows and pallet were gone from my front yard within 15 minutes.
I had about 20 people email me about the furniture in the 1st hour. Are people so delusional that they would seriously ask me to deliver a free couch to them?
IT'S F'ing FREE. Come and get it. IF you don't have a means of getting it then don't ask about it.

I hate people on CL.

so, you listed it at 50 and got 50.. nice.
How many times have you listed something and then the person shows up claiming they only brought $20 less than your listing price?
