I gotta test a receiver real quick, would it be alright if i hooked up my computer speakers to them?

I have the Microworks system, which runs on the normal +- bare speaker wires. Would it work if i were to plug these speakers into the unit just to test the functions? The receiver does have bass controls, so i could turn that down, since the there is a sub in the Microworks set to provide for the lows.

Shoot, don't know how i could that. It's probably the same ohm-age as most other computer speakers, no?

Depends on how big a difference between the power output of the amp and power handling of the speakers, and how far up you turn the amp.

It was a vintage Marantz 2230 receiver. The SOB that sold it to me said it worked. And well...basically i'm screwed. Search for my threads under OT, i've explained why i'm screwed.
