I got twin drives F: and C: are identical -- how to fix?

For some reason win2k labeled the primary master drive (the boot drive) as F: last time I installed it. I managed to rename it to C: ( or so I thought) and now I have both F: and C: present. They are identical: same folders appear on both drives.

When I install software I can put it on either one.

Question: should I leave it like this, or are there going to be repercussions? And how to fix the "twin drives" if this should be fixed?

I did the same thing once, except my drive was labled drive G:

It ran fine forever...until I installed a new cdrom drive. Suddenly my HD was C: again and Win2k wouldn't even load! :Q

I honestly don't know how to fix it, but I'd just be careful if you continue to run it that way.

thx, good to know. I will try to avoid removing/installing any drives. Or at least I will back up before.
