I bought the oem version from mwave which does not include the drivers disk:confused:. I was told to get the drivers from the manufacturer's website. I did a clean install of win98se before installing the drivers (7.103). I also installed the via 4-1 service pack for my abit kt7a running k7 1.2ghz Athlon. Anything else I'm missing? Also what settings should I choose under 3D optimization. Are the Kyro Tools necessary? Any other patches/fixes/drivers I should install?
~Thanks!

Teasy says to get the latest version of Directx (8.1a 602). It may boost speed in certain games. Other than that you should be good to go. Just keep an Eye out for new drivers.

Firstly is this the Hercules Kyro II, the Inno3d Kyro II or the Videologic Kyro II? Your drivers you have aren't the newest version. So goto the corresponding site and download the 7.111 drivers, if you can't find them just ask and I'll find them for you. In the optimisations tab tick "Force Trilinear Filtering" and "Force Texture Compression" in D3D and "Force Texture Compression" in OpenGL. If a game supports texture compression in the engine then don't use forced texture compression in the drivers as this will compress textures twice and can cause graphical annomilies. The best thing to do is use the profile system in the optimisation tab and pic different settings for each game, this way you can disable forced TC for games that already support it natively without having to enable and disable the option each time you play a different game.

Guillemot Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB

Ahh stupid me. It did come with drivers, but hell I got it working just fine without them. I'm not really an expert on video graphics but it runs really fast at high resolutions. My previous card was the Inno3d TNT2 Model Pro, so maybe that's too big of a leap for me to be an accurate judge of that...
I'm just curious to what tweaks, settings I should choose to insure the kyroII is running to it's full potential.:D

how the card looks in my rig:Q <~purdy ain't it?;)

edit: oh btw -it's the tv out verision:)
