I got the ATI X800 xl

I installed all the new ati 5.1 drivers and the quality is still aweful. What do you think the prob is, faulty video card or bad drivers?

Sounds like drivers,

Uninstall all the remaining drivers from ati. and Give it a fresh install of the latest 5.10 catalysts drivers available @ ati.com

i have uninstalled it twice already (from add remove programs) but the graphics seriously are unplayable... is there a known issue with this card?

Did you completely uninstall your old drivers? To rule out drivers, use DH Pro or go to ATI's website and download their uninstall utility. Reboot, install new drivers, reboot.

I can run BF2 w/ my X800XL at 1600x1200, settings med at an avg of 60fps.

hey I just uninstalled all the ati files with the uninstaller, and i do have the latest bf2 1.03 patch, but the graphics still suck. Im afraid it might be a problem with the physical card, although graphics everywhere else seem fine.

open up cc, under 3d. Disable cat AI. this is the cause, BF2 does not accept any AA or AF settings in the game if you have it on.

I don't know about that. I have my CatAI set to low and I know that AA still works fine. Not sure about AF but I know for sure AA is working.

EH...i spoke a bit too soon. The graphics are a bit better, but still messed up. The shapes r still a bit off, constant flickering, etc.
