i asked my mother for help. ;)

after 4 days of a medium (up to 102+) fever and generally feeling awful but no other symptoms, i went to the doctor, who says I have strep throat. :( let me tell you guys, this isn't something you ever want to get. my body temperature keeps flunctuating so i can never be comfortable long enough to sleep. i spend my days and nights in a bored stupor, fighting twisted fever-induced half-dreams. i'm so wasted that it took me 5 minutes to remember what medication i'm allergic to when the doctor asked (good thing, too, because that's what he was going to prescribe me). i usually spit that out as easily as i tie my shoes. woe is me. ;)

Yeah. Strep sucks.

When I first met my girlfriend, I got mono(;)).. I thought I had strep.

After a week, it wasn't getting any better.. and strep can turn into other much more serious complications.. so I decided to go to the doctor.

He told me to go home and sleep. Gave me a prescription for.. can't remember what it was. It was good stuff though. :D

It was kinda a waste of 400 bucks though.. :frown: I should've just waited it off. :p

On the upside, there's plenty of time to post to ATOT.

Hope you feel better.

bro, not that i'm trying to steal the spotlight, but it could be much worse. I'm just coming out of a fever that peaked at 104+. I also have a dormant case of tonsilitus (sp?) from a prevrious sickness that never completely went away. As a result, this fever agitated my glands in my throat and caused it to swell to the point where it would not allow me to open the gap between my teeth more than 1 cm and cause SEVERE pain if I tried to swollow anything. I couldn't ingest solids and my body would spit up anything more than about a fist full of food.

Migranes like you wouldn't believe and all the while, your parents are trying to give you prescriptions from past illnesses, suggesting herbs of all sorts and trying to keep away from going to the doc's cause i don't have health insurance. My body temp is around 99 or so and my throat is still swollen but I can swollow without pain. I can eat soft solids, but nothing that requires chewing as the swelling is still preventing me from opening my mouth enough.

I'm happy we're BOTH recovering. I don't think I could've missed another day of work. :)

glad i'm not in your shoes. ;) that sounds like pure hell. hope you feel better.

re: mono. yeah, i considered that as well, but my doctor seemed sure this is strep. i did recently get my make-out on with a girl who i didn't really know, so i guess she could have had mono. gotta watch for it.

I've had 'the strep' two or three times. No fun. But that was in gradeschool, I haven't had it for 4-5 years or so. Gradeschool sick means you stay home and sleep, and feel pretty bad. Still, in gradeskoo, its not that big of a deal.

I can't imagine getting sick enough to be out for a few days now, though, it must suck.

I had strep throat and pneumonia. I still had to go to work at McDonald's, making food.

Seriously.

Think about that the next time you get hungry.

That's why I never eat at McD's. :disgust:
