I feel so stupid. I've been with my company for 2 years now and I am part of their profit sharing group. Last year their was 35 of us and we each got a grand, this year their was only 10 and we got a grand. The company is basicly saying that we made only 10,000 in profits this year. . .less than last year and then our bosses went on and on about how we are SO appreciated. What a slap in the face, a kick in the butt. . .I feel so stupid for staying with the company.
 
I think your concept if profit sharing is a bit off. They do not share the ENTIRE profit with you, only a small percentage. If they gave it all to employees that would negate the whole idea of profit.

As someone added, they are nice enough to give anything, so don't say you've been had for a fool.
 
Wait, so in this tough economy, you have a job, you got 1 grand last year and this year, this year with less people so obviously you're surviving, and you complain? Come on! There are plenty of people without a job let alone a bonus.
 
Wow, they gave you money that's they don't owe you considering it's not part of your salary. Yah, sounds like you're really getting screwed to me. I say you go Office Space and burn the place down

Now, be thankful that you got anything and use that thousand dollars to buy a grammar checker.
 
As was pointed out, profit sharing does NOT mean you get all the profits. You get a portion of them.

If in fact your workforce was reduced from 35 to 10, and you still got a profit-sharing bonus, you are extremely fortunate.
 
Long ago one of my bosses told me "if you don't like what's happening at work, leave. Remember, it's not your name on the company door."

Sounds like you're a bit ingrateful, or ungrateful, an ingrate no less. pack your trash and move on. I doubt you'll be happy at your next job either.
 
With all the downsizing that's going on and people losing their jobs you'll have to excuse us if we don't feel any empathy regarding your situation

No crap. I would be saying thank you for any bonus if that happened.
 
The company goes from 35 employees to 10 and you feel cheated getting a $1,000.00 bonus? Be happy you got anything, you twit.
 
That's a little better than my $0 bonus and having to work on Christmas Eve, yet I'm not posting a thread about it.

We got nothing for a bonus, so therefore that means the company I work for (hilton) made exactly zero $$$ in profits last year?

Oh wait, scratch that, we all recieved a ten dollar gft certificate to the local Jewel-Osco, a grocery store.
