It's impossible to know what you're saying without a translator.

i was doing around 60 in a 55, in the center lane of 3.
left lane traffic going faster than me... wasn't really paying attention to the speed of the right lane.

i had a pretty big gap ahead of me, by my estimation roughly 20 car lengths.
3 big rigs, back-to-back-to-back passed me on my right and then changed back to the center lane.
they did so politely, with signaling and leaving ample space so i didn't have to let off the gas. i didn't get the feeling that they were pissed.

but somehow, it made me feel i was impeding the flow of traffic.
was i right or wrong?

if you were in arizona then you were in the wrong, you should have been in the left lane going 50.

As someone on these boards once said, it is a speed LIMIT not a speed suggestion.

You and the truck drivers were wrong to be speeding.

the money is charged in an attempt of punishment, so you wont drive too fast which becomes a safety issue...dumass

oh my gosh you are right. Instead of revoking licenses of people who are caught drunk driving, we should just put a dollar fine on it. We should also put a fine on things on murder. Instead of locking people up or revoking licenses, just fine them. If you can pay the $10,000 fine, you should be able to kill someone. It's as simple as that.
logic fail

imo you should never be in the situation where you are causing large vehicles to move around you.

its not about whether you are technically wrong or right, and everything about IF there was an accident, you're always going to be the loser.

Many pages too late...but: Most likely they were trying to keep their momentum up for the next hill.

You didn't do anything wrong. I would think that truckers may actually prefer to pass you like that, since they typically can see a lot better over their left side.

Speed limits on highways have been outdated for a while. They need to be raised a bit to compensate for the advancement of our automobile technology.

Post back in 3 years, when you are actually old enough to get a drivers license.
This thread MAY hold a "little" credibility then.

The speed limits are crazy low because companies like Toyota suck at making cars.

Toyota Corolla steering problems could result in another recall
Feb 17, 2010 3:32 PM

The complaints reported by owners describe the car wandering at highway speeds and being difficult to control. Here are some quotes from owners who submitted their complaints into the NHTSA database:

“On the hwy it is as though the wind is blowing hard and blowing the car all over the place.”

“My 2009 Toyota Corolla steering wanders around the road and makes steering difficult and tiring.”

“Since day one, I noticed that driving highway speeds, the steering feels very loose. It takes two hands to constantly try to keep the car to go straight. The closest sensation would be like hydroplaining.”

“While driving on expressway/roads the vehicle will make a surprise pull to the left or right. One thing to note when turning the corner the steering will not recover straight.”

It's only a problem with cross winds. Wind pushing the side of the car throws it out of whack a lot more than most cars.

They're crappy drivers and whiners, imo. I've been in crosswinds as well with this car and didn't have anything to complain about, but I did drive a van for a while which really sucks in crosswinds...

Too bad the human body hasn't evolved to take a 70-0 stop better. Until then we should keep the speed limit just a tad higher where it is currently, but not in excess.

Chances of accidents would be lower if the speed limits were raised. There would be less congestion on the highways and less idiots in the left lane going the old speed limit.

It's also worth noting that most accidents do not happen on highways. What really gets people is intersections. People running the red, turning and failing at it, turning into the wrong lane, etc.

On a flat stretch of road in the middle of nowhere, you could set the limit at 200mph and it wouldn't make a dent in the number of car crashes or people dying. Changing the speed limit at a busy intersection is a different story.

What needs to be done is to make it harder to get a driver's license.
Have a minimum IQ, set it to 100.
Miss 0 on the written test, make it at least 50 questions.
Miss 0 on the driving test.
