So I was sitting in my Latin American Archeology class today when my professor asked if anyone spoke Spanish. I speak a little, and he asked if I'd be interested in going to Mexico (Oaxaca, specifically) and supervising the digging of test pits with him and his crew this May - June!! This has been a dream of mine for years!! Just wanted to share...

Sounds great. If you find a new species you should name it Anandaracius....😀

ROFL. I should. I'm gonna have to cram spanish and re-read my specifics on test pits, because of all the countries on earth, Mexico is the most serious on who they let dig (probably because archeology draws all the tourist). I have one guy going against me, so I hope I get picked. Especially as a freshman in college, this would look GREAT on a resume...

Sounds like a great opportunity. Avoid the protests, and see if you can learn some of the local dialect. I don't think all of the people in Oaxaca even speak Spanish.

Yeah. A guy that I've worked with for 6 years now grew up in Oaxaca (he was a missionary kid), and he has all kinds of stories. I want to go see Monte Alban while I'm there...

Wrong science.

Na, it's all anthropology. Who knows, maybe the site has prehistoric pre-formative remains? Maybe it would help support my theory on the prorogation of the new world during the last ice age?
