License age in VA is 16 and 3 months.

15 and 6 months you get your learners permit, only drive with an adult

Hold that until your 16 and 3 months you get your license but its restricted to 1 non family member for a while.

You also have to hold your learners for 9 months and complete a behind the wheel course.

*sigh* first stop.... YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAA Work -_- oh well at least im going somewhere lol.

I just got my license too!!! 2 days ago. (motorcycle that is).

Now to look for a full racing suit/armor and an Arai. Not sure if the first bike should be a 250 or go all out on an R6. Probably will look weird in full race gear on a 250....

yes you are like any other 16 year old...YOU ARE DANGEROUS. i thought the same when i was 17 and go my license. i thought i was the best driver out there. wrong!!! i never got any tickets and i never had an accident but thats not to say there werent some close calls.

the only way you get any safer is through experience and trying not to be a hothead and think you arent a danger to anyone.

I never said i thought i wasn't a danger anyone who gets in the car is dangerous, however the way i took it was heres another bad river who obeys no laws and go 40miles over speed limit. Everyone is dangerous in a car though.

The key to not being a retard 16 year old driver is to shove it to your buddies when they try to get you to do stupid sh1t. All my 'buddies' hated driving with me because I went the speed limit...too bad for them.

First, congrats.

But know this: You now have a license to kill. Yes. A license to KILL. You can actually kill someone and not go to jail as a licensed driver.

No matter what you think now, you ARE a crappy driver. You don't know it now (I sure didn't when I was 16), but it will slowly dawn on you as you become more experienced. It takes several years to become a good driver. (That's why so few states will just hand you a full license at 16 anymore.)

Just be good out there. And don't speed in residential areas. 65 in a 55 is usually OK, but 40 in a 30 with parked cars around and families in the front yards is BAD.
