I went down to the campus post office today and found a slip to pick up a box. I figured it was the stuff I left at home by accident that my mom was sending. I got the box, opened it up in my room and found my brand new canon S200 in the box! Oh it's so nice, I'm charging the battery and can't wait till I can go use it!

AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

This just made my week.

I will as soon as I get the battery charged. It's a little annoying it doesn't have an integrated data/power cable or a cradle that does both. You have to take the battery out of the camera to charge it.

I love my S200... happy picture taking!!! The next thing you gotta do is learn how to use it well. I didn't learn about changing the ISO to 50 and enabling close up for close up pictures, but now I do and I think the camera is awesome!

Mine is a 256 mb viking cf -- $65 shipped after rebate from amazon.com!
I can't believe so many people missed the Micro-Center $49.99 256 MB Sandisk CF card special during "Black Friday." The $49.99 price was the price they advertised and I only had to add tax onto the purchase price. No rebates were required. I just wish I had purchased more of them - to sell them at cost. ;)

To the orginal poster of this thread. Good luck with your Canon S200. Canon makes great cameras. Be sure to carry a soft cotton cloth in your camera bag so you can wipe the fingerprints off the aluminum case each time you are done using the camera.

I currently have a 128, a 32 and an 8 (THAT will never get used I think). I think I've got enough for now.

i looked at the S200 but i thought it was actually to small.

i ended up getting the A40.

246megs of memory! wow. i have 64 (2 of them actually) and have yet to fill it up. But a 256 would be nice. if i see it for that cheap i will pick one up heh.

What attracted me to the digital elph is it's size. My film camera is too big so I often don't have it with me.

Well, I wouldn't say we "missed" that deal. I bought mine way before Black Friday, for $90 on amazon. And Bignate here seems to not have not needed the memory until about 2 months after that deal. :)

And the Viking cards are higher-rated than Sandisk anyway. I don't know how much difference there really is, but it's gotta be worth something.

I have an S100 and love it. Great and easy to use camera. And digital makes me takes pictures of everything, no cost to develop. :)

Not everybody missed that. I got one too. :D

Edit: Have the A40 , just wish it can do more than 30 secs of video. But can do a lot of video shots :)
