I got my CCW permit today

I got the call this morning from the sheriffs dept saying my application was approved and to come down to get my picture taken. so I have a shiney new CCWP in my wallet. it took 4 months from when i submitted all my paperwork. im all happy now give me a cookie.

Thats only if you have a good enough reason.

OP: Is it a free state you're in, or do you need to go through a whole process with your reasons for needing defense?

no its not free. my county charged 140 bucks for it which is non-refundable if its denied. all i had to do was fill out the application and provide proof of firearm training. I was Air Force Law Enforcement for 10 years and my DD214 showed my expert qualificaiton on the M9, M16 and other weapons qualifications like the MK19, 80mm morter and M2 50 cal. plus i submitted my hunters safty card and thats all they wanted.

You're absolutely right. Canada does not recognize licenses to carry from the state of Colorado. :p

Mine took about 3 weeks I think. I live in PA.

Although, I have only carried once since I got it.
