I got my car back! (PICS)

After 3 months and 20 days of waiting, I finally have my car back (and about 95% fixed).

Anyways, for those of you who don't remember (and I don't blame you)...I hit a guardrail on Dec. 1st. It smashed the drivers side front fender, shattered the front valance, scratched the front bumper, mauled the end of the header panel, tore up the drivers side headlight and dented the drivers side rear quarter nicely.

Anyways, almost $5000 and 4 months later, here she is, all beautiful again 🙂 .

Oh, and sorry for the dark pictures & wet car...it was pouring today.

You spent $5 grand to fix a car you spent $4K on?

OK, let me rephrase it:

You had comprehensive insurance on a $4K vehicle?

I'm amazed they didn't total it.

I guess it's a good thing you did have the comprehensive, though I wouldn't pay comprehensive rates on a $4K car.

Sounds like a deal to me, have you put any other work into it since you got it? Buying a 4k car and then putting 2k (or another amount, or almost nothing dollar wise and do the work yourself) into it (real work, not ricer work) means it is no longer a 4k car.

if it's fuggin raining, then why in hell do you have the window open? Am I the only one confused by this?

😀

Nice car--better insurance policy 🙂

In that picture it appears that the rain has stopped. Neither car has their wipers on and both windshields are drop free.

You do the math.

Yes, that was about a 15 minute break in the rain when I was taking the pictures. It was still drizzing, but it made it a lot easier to take things in/out of the car with the window down....plus I have this paranoia about leaving my keys in a running car & closing the door without any other way to get in.

Edit: And as for the insurance, yes I do have comprehensive insurance on a car I paid $4k for, but it is easily worth more than $4k, would probably cost me almost double that to find another car like it (in as good of shape). I think blue book is $4k (for a real bad example) to $15k (for a pristine example...which is what this is....near mint (excluding the previous accident, to which it has been repaired beyond OEM spec with almost all new parts). Also I can't afford to replace the car should I get into an accident, and being that the insurance company views this as a collectors car (I don't see why...but I'm not complaining) it has real low rates anyways (I'm paying LESS than I did on my previous car with 76hp with bare minimum insurance, plus I've got an accident on my record since then).

that's a long time to wait for a car.

About a month worth of dealing with the insurance company, a month worth of waiting for parts, a month worth of work, and then they pretty much two-dayed me for the remaining two weeks.
