I got my AncestryDNA results....

Torn Mind

Lifer
Kinda confirms pretty much everything, vaguely and bluntly, with about as much precision as a Jackson Pollock painting or jackhammer.

I'm Chinese.

I got some "North". I got some "South". (I do seem to have hybrid vigour. Not often can you be 120 lbs all your life and have no health issues whatsoever)

Maybe I share some genetics with some Koreans at 14%, but the range is from 0-29%.

The results are vague for Asians, which is what the interwebz said in the first place. The northern China map happens to barely exclude the areas my maternal grandmother and mother grew up and lived.

I'm sometimes curious to get mine done but don't really trust these companies with my data.

I assume I have some Irish and/or Scottish in me from my mom's side and probably a bit of native as there is some on my dad's side. But not sure the rest.

Strokes so broad I'm not afraid to post on the interwebz. About the equivalent of coloring the entire USA for an American.

I figured that since I'm going to cough it up to NIH anyway for their COVID study, letting a company get it is not going to harm me by the time they figure out what to do. I'll probably be dead by COVID at 60. Plus, I was covering bases to see if there were any unknowns I needed strike out in a will so they don't get my mother's money if I die. Only distant relatives, so nothing significant to add to such a list, which will include my half-siblings and uncles on my father side....

i can trace my family - at least my paternal side - to the 1600s just by clicking hyperlinks on wikipedia.
so, there.
