I got hit in the eye with a basketball...

I was playing basketball around 2:00 PM yesterday afternoon when I got hit in the eye with a basketball. Not the eye socket, but really the eye. It knocked my contact out of my eye and when I locked at the contact, there was a little split in the middle of it (presumably from the contact, but it might've been from when my friend picked it up for me).

When I got hit, it throbbed for a couple minutes but then the pain pretty much went away. However, the pupil of the eye that got hit was -- and is -- noticeably more contracted. It's also very light-sensitive.

Whenever I try to move my eye, it's painful. It was very bright outside today and it hurt so bad to move my eye that I had to stay in the house.

Any suggestions, ideas, recommendations, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Went to see the doctor, said my eye was directly struck (which I knew) and said that the blood vessels were very sensitive and there was some inflammation. He told me I couldn't do anything stressful, gave me some steroid-based eye drops, and told me to go back and see him on Monday.

Looks fine to me, put some windex directly on the pupil if you begin to feel more discomfort

You don't need to go to a doctor. Do you have a scalpel nearby? I need you to turn your monitor towards you and find a large clean mirror. Also, some cotton swabs, rubbing alcohol, and a bucket. Write back when you're ready.

You need to remove the eye and let it rest in a dry, dark room for 7 hours. After that, pop it back in and you will be good as new.

Well... I got hit with a basketball. It's not the first time something like this had happened, so I figured it would just fade with time. Thanks for the votes for Darwinism. Really made me feel loved.

Yes, your post does indicate a pattern of repeated head injury.

Obviously. I posted here, but nobody wanted to post legitimate medical advice (besides go to the doctor) so I could sue them for bajillions if something went wrong.

Some people are just so inconsiderate...
