My optician was quite angry when I had told him I drive without any specs. My number is -1.5 and -1.25 ...I can see quite a lot better and can finally read road signs, watch the news ticker on TV :p and can recognize people from far away. But damn! Specs are damn irritating to wear at all times or even carry around. I need not wear them the whole time, but even carrying them seems like a pain in the arse. I hope it doesn't take long to get used to them!

Contacts for that vision might be on the pricey side due to the curve but I'm not sure. Seems close to what mine is w/o glasses.

Takes maybe a week or so you'll get used to them. You could also get 2 cheap sets one for home / driving and one for the office so you dont have to take them everywhere.

When you wear glasses long enough, your eyes look weird if you take them off. Yeah, i still remember the first time i put my glasses on: woa... "I can see the leaves on the trees!!!"I refused to do lasik as I dont want to get rid of my glasses.

Contacts > glasses. I wear my glasses every now and then but they still get irritating and give me headaches.

I'd get contacts, but I'd lost vision quality because of my astigmatism.

wtf james bond where is the effing laser on those?

Those sound hot if they are only 2.5, how do you like them? That design on the side noticeable while wearing?

They are the best glasses I've ever owned. They are super light, and I have the ones that curve around my ears so they don't slide off or blow off in the wind. I chose clear frames so you can't even really see them. The glasses are 100% plastic, so no bending them out of shape. Super light and sharp trivex lenses round them out as incredibly awesome. On top of all that, they have clip on polarized lenses for out in the sun. With those lenses on, they just look like sunglasses.

I highly recommend them. And plus, if you need to get a new prescription, they just take the lenses out and you can pick a new lens style to put in the frames you already have.

edit: those frilly things on the side aren't on the actual glasses, just the show models haha :D

Yea very true, but if OP thinks glasses are annoying, wait till he/she gets contacts.

Freak'n pain. But you get use to them eventually (took me something like 2 weeks before I could really get them in right).

Problems with contacts:

* When something gets in your eye, the contact generally complicates getting it back out. Often have to remove and rinse the contact. Can cause eye to be irritated for awhile. With glasses, you just blink it out like normal.
* Contacts can be easily lost or damaged. For this reason, I'd recommend disposables. However, then you run out every year and have to buy more.
* Putting them in and taking them out, as well as storing them while out, is far more complicated than just taking glasses on and off. You may have to put drops in your eyes to easily get them out, you need a contact case with fluid to store them in (if not throwing away), and when putting back in you have to make sure they are not inside out, plus some people need a mirror.
* On occasion, they may irritate your eye or eyes. Some people have more problems with this than others, and trying different brands can help.
* It you for some reason choose colored contacts, it will make you look like an alien from outerspace.

Problems with glasses:

* Constantly get smudged resulting in annoying blurs. I generally have to clean mine off several times a day.
* They fog up whenever there is a significant temperature change.
* Water drops that get on your glasses, from rain or other sources, are annoying.
* They can get funky after awhile, requiring more thorough cleaning.
* Can irritate nose and/or ears.
* Incomplete field of vision coverage.

Take your pick!

I have perscription contacts and perscription glasses. Contacts are muuuch better, but I keep the glasses around when I want to give my eyes a "rest". Both the contacts and the glasses are the same "power" but I see much more clearly with the glasses.

I'd just be wary of leaving behind the protection that glasses afford. I would likely have lost vision in both my eyes by now, were it not for my glasses. Sometimes it's things like drawers, doors, or even my own hands, combined with lack of coordination, or simply forgetting where an object is, that's put my eyes at risk. Pointy corners of such objects have on several occasions been brought at my eyes with sufficient force to cause serious damage to my eyes, were it not for my glasses being in the way.

I can't read with the glasses on and I'm guessing contacts would do the same. That would pretty much rule them out. Besides, people tell me I look hot with the glasses ;)

I got annoyed of wearing my glasses, and found myself not wearing them sometimes. So, I started wearing contacts about a year and a half ago. Wow, I love them!

Putting in and taking out contacts becomes like driving a car, it becomes second nature, and sucks when your drunk or under any influence.

I just got glasses too, about -1.00 on either side. It's not too bad so I don't wear them unless I'm in a class or somewhere else where I really need to look far. I find that driving is better without them because I can't use my peripheral vision with them on! Gotta turn my head to look where I need to, which is annoying and doesn't really work for shoulder checks.
