I just picked up my new glasses today. I'm almost 38 and these are my first ones.
My eyeballs were starting to hurt from reading, so I figured a trip to the eye doc wouldn't hurt.
They're "reading glasses".
Hell is, there's a reflection in them all the time. Whatever is behind me is always right in my field of vision. What the hell is that all about? Is it something I have to get used to or do I go get different glasses?

I think mine have the anti glare stuff. I can't see any reflections in mine even if I try.

You'll get used to them. I was 41 when I got my first glasses and now I have tri focals.
Before you know it you will be climbing into bed with them on.

You'll get used to it, as has been said.

It's not unusual for your eyes to hurt at first, especially if your prescription is strong. But after a little while you'll have no problem with 'em.

No true. I ate tons of carrots when I was young. Now I have 50 children. ;)

I hate carrots. Blechhhhh.
The eye doctor told me that my failing vision has nothing to do with my disdain for carrots. He says it's chronic fapping-induced trauma to the optic nerve. If I had a little lighter hand, I may have avoided this ugliness.

When I got glasses, I put them on, looked around, and thought. Wow. This is what it's really like. I was high for the rest of the day.

I hate the reflection with glasses, so annoying. I even think that I had the anti-glare coat on it. Oh well,

contacts > glasses :D

Thats why they have the "Anti Glare Coating" option when you buy them.

First pair I got, I passed on the coating.

Next time I GOT it.

It also make it a LOT better at night!

Ya know, them sons a bitches never said boo about anti-glare coating. They sold me scratch resistant coating, you'd think they could toss that in. I couldn't see a thing when they sent me to pick out glasses. I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. I had to stand back 15 feet just to pick out frames.
Twice they threw a paper in front of me and I said "Sorry, I can't see. The doctor destroyed my vision".
Still no anti-glare. I'll read my bill and see if I already have it.
