I was getting ready to go mow the lawn and my son came in.

He asked me what kind of gas I use in the mower and I told him non ethanol and where I buy it. He asked where the gas can was and I showed him. I was so excited that someone else was going to do the yard today.

He picked up the can and shook. Then he told me he ran out of gas in front of the house and needed to borrow my gas to get to the gas station...

Now I'm sitting here kind of annoyed that I have to wait for my gas can to mow the lawn...

Next year I am going to let my lawn die and paint it...

We went with grass free landscaping about a year ago. So happy we did this. No watering, no lawn to mow.

Yeh,.. Had a yard when I lived in CA. It was different colors of rock divided into a pattern. All we had was cactii and rose bushes,. Depending on the time of year we would have either illegals cutting things off the cactii or random other people cutting roses.

It was kind of frustrating to look out my front window and see people hacking up our plants.

Freakin kids. Always needing something.

I haven't cut grass in years. We "hired" someone, but we haven't paid him in years. His crew comes every Tuesday to do the front, and every other week they do the back. Full service, trims the bushes, edges, picks up the leaves. It's awesome.

I'm encouraging the moss to take over the grass.

How old is your kid? Hopefully pretty young to still be pulling something like that...
