I got DirecTV TiVO today: It rocks! And it has two USB ports...

What can I do with them?

I recall someone once mentioning that the USB-enabled TiVO boxes allow you to hook up a network adapter to pull your listings, instead of having to go the phone/modem option.

DirecTivo units have USB ports disabled. Supposedly there is a way to enable them but I have yet to find that information on the web. Basically to get the Home Networking Option you would have to hack the crap out of the DirecTivo box and I'm just not sure that it's worth it.

I would love the "hack the crap" out of my DirecTIVO but not at the cost of voiding the warranty.

It works fine as is out of the box although I am tempted to stick a 200GB in there 🙂

You can find out how to enable the USB ports there.
