I got contacts yesterday

And I am having trouble getting them in and out. Im getting better but it still take like 5-10 min.

They told me that I should only wear them for 6 hours my second day.

Do you guys think I could go like 12 if my eyes feel ok?

I'd build up gradually to reduce the risk of any problems. After a week or so your eyes will be used to the lenses and you can wear them as long as necessary

ok I guess Ill take it slowly... I was taking to a lady while in line and she said she sleeps with hers in.

I was told never to do this but I know several people who do.

Is is that huge of an issue?

You'll get better at putting them on and taking them off. Personally I never got used to the feeling of having them on. I could always feel them there and it made my eyes feel constantly dry. Stupid computer screens and games!

Are you using disposable daily contacts? I wear Acuvue 1-Day contacts. Expensive, but very comfy. I don't feel a thing when I'm wearing them. YMMV though. Some people have more sensitive eyes than others.

You're not supposed to put them in the butt. Take them out of there and the pain will stop.

LMFAO!😀 That was FUNNY!

OP: It gets easier. I've had contacts...about 11 years. When I first got them, it took me at least 15 mins to get them in.

Within a month, you have them both in or out in 10 seconds flat and your eyes will get used to them and stop being so sensitive. It gets better. 🙂

multipurpose for disinfecting and cleaning

I'm using Acuvue Advanced weekly contacts but I feel them on day 1. Next time I go for my exam I'll ask to try the dailys. thanks

Don't sleep with them in until you know how they react to being in your eyes for a long time. My eyes, for instance, cannot tolerate contacts in overnight, even the brand that are meant to be worn for a month straight. I can't stand them in for more than 12-14 hours, and if I fall asleep with them in, my eyes dry out so badly that I can't see until I get drops in them to rewet the contacts. In extreme cases, or so I've heard, the contacts can actually dry to your eyeballs when you sleep, potentially causing damage to your eyes should they shift or be peeled off.

Takes a long time to get used to, but after a while, you get very comfortable poking your eye whenever it feels misaligned. Oh, and don't put on hand cream before you put on the contacts (I'm a genius). Anyways, I wore them for 1 year and then just went with glasses since I like the look and hated the dry-eye, lens fall out issues.

Just be glad you don't have hard contacts!
God those sucked. I had those when I started wearing contacts ~12 years ago. Switching to soft lenses was a huge improvement. I don't think anybody still wears hard lenses do they?
