The entire shaving industry, blades AND electric razors is indeed a semi-scam.
Disposables are deliberately made so they get dull after one or two uses.
Initial prices for handheld "disposables" (those packs with a razor and some blades) are relatively cheap, this is just to make you buy them and then spend A LOT more money on the actual blades that you always need to replace.
With Electric shaver companies it's even worse.
A new shaver can also be relatively cheap, like a Philips (Norelco), but replacement heads will cost almost as much as the entire shaver.
Tip: Don't buy "alternative" replacement heads from China off ebay. They are obviously cheaper than Philips, but ENTIRELY CRAP. (I made this mistake two times, never again...)
