I got a Title...now what do i do?

I'm just 18 so bare with me here. Alright, my brother in law bought traded my car in for another one. He gave me the new title of the car....Now what do i do? I want to have my own insurance now instead of bumming off my dad's insurance. What do i do? I heard that I have to call insurance company first and get it insure, then go to the DMV to get a new title......

I just don't know what's all the steps required. Can you guys tell me from step 1 - 10

remember that you only drive the car to the market and appointments a few miles a week becasue you walk to work/school and that it has its own covered garage off of the street
