I got a ticket today for passing across solid yellow line on a local road. This god damn bastard with a van was driving at 30 on road with 50 speed limit, and I was behind him for like 4 miles when I finally got a chance to pass him, but where I started passing, the line was solid yellow and broken about 30 ft ahead. 
Does this violation account for points in your DMV record?!
Btw, I live in California and this is the violation code he wrote on the ticket:
21051 (Crossing solid yellow)
IF it's not any points, I will probably pay the fine and not go to court...
