So I got a speeding ticket and on the ticket is a space to fill in the info for the driver and also for the vehicle owner

On the section for vehicle owner he checked the box 'same as driver'...BUT...my dad is the registered vehicle owner...it's just that my middle name is my dad's first name so the officer probably got that mixed when looking at the vehicle registration and my license.

Also the field 'evidence of financial responsiblity' he left blank and he didn't ask for my proof of insurance...

Is it possible to get out of it?

I got out of a ticket cause the officer had the date wrong. It was 1:30 in the morning and the officer wrote teh previous date.

I also got a red light ticket thrown out because she wrote "Unsafe speeds" instead of running a red, said I was going 25 in a 1mph zone.

btw he got me on radar

If i were the traffic judge, I would see your situtaion as such: theres no doubt your were speeding (you were wern't you?), however, because the ticket was improperly issued, i'd reduce your fine (to what would be dependant on your judge and what they usually do in situation like such).

He cited me for CVC 22350 Basic Speed Law:
"22350. No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property."

Not (CVC)22349(a) (exceeding the maximum speed limit)

hmmm

you were still speeding regardless.

yeah but:
1) weather was clear
2) visibility was good
3) traffic was light..there was no cars in front of me
4) road surface was fine
4) there were no persons of property in danger

therefore that law seems not to apply...he didn't charge me w/ violating the posted speed limit...

that law may not best fit, but you were still speeding regardless.

think of it this way, to have violated 22350, you'd have to be exceeding the posted speed limit in the first place. The posted speed limit is there and what it is because a bunch of engineers figured/calculated all that stuff listed under 22350 and came up with the speed.

You might be able to get out of it, just really depends on what mood the judge is in that day. I got out of my no seatbelt ticket because the officer put my birthday down as wrong. (said I was born in 03, when i was born in 83) I know thats chicken s** stuff, but still, might wanna bring it up with the judge and see where he takes it.

seth

To hell with paying the ticket.

The police often bust meth labs, give the money to the DEA to avoid state laws that make use of drug money to support schools, and then the DEA gives it back after thier cut so officer hardass can buy new toys...

Great system we got...

Own up to the ticket and pay the consequences you pussy.

Unless you live in MA, where a $400 ticket for speeding will cost you 3 points on your insurance ($300 increase). If you live in MA, FIGHT IT!
