About a month or so ago, my friends decided to play a prank on me, and warn me to 100%. I thought I just wasn't able to send messages anymore for a little while when that happened. Turned out it became much worse. I get the error: "You are attempting to sign on again too soon. Please try again later." Sometimes it'll take me 10 tries to get into aim and be able to use it, other times it takes well over 40 tries. It's so incredibly annoying. I've uninstalled aim, reinstalled to the latest version. I've formated my computer, and upgraded my operating system from windows 2000 to windows XP. I then reinstalled aim, and it still doesn't work like it should. Whenever I log in at school, it works just fine, the first time. Which leaves me to believe that sense I have a broadband connection, it could be that my IP is logged as being a "trouble user" or something, and it's preventing me from logging on. I've tried logging on with other screenames while I'm at home, and that doesn't work either. I sent a bug report to AOL about it, but they offer no help besides saying that "they'll try to fix it in the next update". Is there anything I can do? I know for sure it has to be the AIM servers, and I know it has to be something with the IP since it works fine at school, but not at home (where the 100% action took place). Any help to change my IP, or to fix this horrendous problem will truly be a life saver.
