I got a raise?

I'm doing my filing.... basically doing the 60 day emptying of the recipts drawer into my records accordian and I noticed something odd... looking at a paystub from two months ago, someone gave me a signifigant raise without telling me! No wonder my checks have been a little bigger than usual...

If you got a raise, but never checked the "pay rate" field on your pay stub (only hours, deductions and totals) how long would it take you to notice? I'm guessing it's been about 4 or 5 pay cycles over here...
 
How could you not notice a raise? I don't see how that is possible. I never look at my paper checks because I have direct deposit but even then I'd notice it. Why? Becauase I check my bank's website and I enter values into my money management software.

😕 ....well then of course you notice it b/c you transfer the #s from your account into a managment software...so...if someone didn't do that, it would be quite easily possible not to notice it.
 
Right, but you are saying you go through months without ever looking at your finances? How do you know if you can afford something? Do you have a running tally in your head?
 
I notice right away, I dont have direct deposit and I always check the amounts... I deposit them in the ATM and the amount is the same every-time.. if it changed, I'd notice 🙂
 
Last week I found out by accident that I had received a raise.. one day before it was made 'official' 🙂

( no snooping around; just that someone put my pay stub in my mailbox one day in advance...
