Does Windows 7 have more than one activation.
I heard that there were 3, is this right?
I was going to install it on another computer, will this work?

All the beta keys were from a pool of about 20 or so, I don't think it's much different in the RC so it would make no sense to limit it.

Final version will obviously be different.

I finally found my answer, you can have 3 activations for up to 3 different computers with the same product key :)
I went to the Windows 7 answer forums and found it.

I've activated the same key on 5 computers with no problem so far.

Thats the official for the RC, but the release licensing should be the same as Vista.

i have not been able to find how to activate (enter my key) for the windows 7 RC

I have the key issued to me stored in a text file, that was a on a separate hard drive, which i had unplugged while installing windows 7, so i did not have access to it at the time it asked. I left it blank and figured i'd be prompted to enter it later.

Anyone know of a way to activate it after installing, should I just wait until it bugs me and prompts me to enter a key?

From an elevated cmd prompt you should be able to do slmgr -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

actually i just tonight upgraded to 4gb of ram, went to control panel and selected 'view amount of ram and processor speed' and found where you can activate using the GUI

control panel > system and security > system

down @ the bottom of that window, i guess i had missed that before.

yeah right click on computer and goto properties.

The RC keys have unlimited activations. If you goto the page to download and refresh the page you can see that there are only a few keys.
