I am moving to the Aurora, IL area in the next month or so, and I am getting a nice pay bump (which is good since that area costs more than where I live now, and I will be on my own, not with a roommate). Little nervous, my boss has been hyping me up to the home office for the past month or more, so I have to hit the ground running and impress the pants off of all the superiors. I am just glad that I already almost all the superiors in question, and have good relationships with each of them.

I do find it weird that everyone is saying congratulations, my existing job isn't that hard, and I didn't have to go through a lot to get the promotion, just had to do a 30 minute phone interview, and then wait about a month for salary approval.

Though I will take the congratulations, kibble for the ego :)

Sorry to hear that. I hope you leave them satisfied. :)

That's the idea, and I'll remember to wipe my mouth after :)

Congrats!!!

maybe now you can upgrade your G4 in sig :p

Actually, my new MacBook Air arrived this morning, I just haven't had a chance to update the sig yet.

so what is it that u do?

I work in Logistics for a government contractor. We do 3PL for all non-weapon DoD freight in the contiguous US. What I do is to answer the phone and act as a middleman between the govt warehouse that I work out of and the carriers that we work with. The new job will be more of that, and some additional responsibilities.

How do you get a job like that? Seems like a very odd/abstract one, haha.

A friend had the job before me, he got it through a temp agency and he recommended me to the position when he left.

I was part-time temp for about 3-4 months, then full time temp for the next 6 I think. In Oct of 09, the company hired me, and in Jan '11 I applied for the promotion.

Isn't this the second thread recently where someone was moving to Aurora? Man, it's freaky when more than a few of you guys lived where I used to.
