I got a postcard from KFC

I complained about a local KFC on the KFC website. Then I recently got a postcard from the local store with a handwritten apology from the manager, along with an offer to replace the greasy chicken I originally got.

Wouldn't you be afraid to go there with the postcard as you may get the same result as when you send food back in a real restaurant?

It always pays off to let companies know how they're doing. They honestly appreciate your feedback most of the time.
Generally larger companies will send you free food or coupons as a sign of appreciation as well.
