I rolled over just shy of 80 hours from LAST year, and I'll rack up another 200 hours worth this year that I'll never be able to use.

I was supposed to lose those 80 from last year this month, but I conviced them to let me roll it again because they have made it virtually impossible for me to take vacation time. It's not that I don't want to take the time off, it's just that I'm never able to.

How many hours do you have build up?

I have over four hundred hours right now but don't have the exact number in front of me. If I have over four hundred and sixty? by August eighteenth or so, I lose any beyond that.

Shoot, full time = 40 hours/week. Assuming you work twice that (which would explain why you have no vacation time taken up), thats 80 hours. 460 hours gives you almost 6 weeks, where you can lounge around your house, sleep till 3 PM, forgo the use of clothes . . . . . think about it. 6 weeks! and you get paid for it! thats like a summer vacation!

Yes, the idea of a prolonged vacation is damned tempting. I do plan to use a week or two in the Fall to visit some relatives, but I am trying to keep it nearly at peak because when I leave my job, eventually, I get paid for all of that vacation time. ~

If you have vacation time, and your boss says you cant use it (mission critical stuff going on) yet you have already banked the normal maximum amount of time you can, do they let you bank the extra also, or can you cash it?
