Seriously, Apple. Couldn't you just let me have an alias to a folder on the dock? What's wrong with that? I seriously don't want you trying to be smart and scan and preview all 78 documents in that folder. I just want a folder alias, like I've had since the start of OSX. Thanks for not letting me turn it off.

Also, why don't network mounts show up as drives on the desktop anymore?

Oh, and while I'm at it, did you really need to screw my Helvetica Neue pooch? Seriously, I've used Helvetica Neue from Adobe for 4+ years in probably 85% of the documents I make. I switched to Neue because over the years you and Adobe fighting over vanilla Helvetica made a mess of that one. Now you mandate using your Neue? And I know, I can really force it's deletion but then I'm left using a Neue that most of my vendors won't be using, and that sucks. If you were going to do this, why couldn't you have at least supplied the whole damned family?

Bah.

1. Either follow sourceninja's link, or drag your folder to the dock, right-click it, and select List and Display as Folder

2. Finder, Preferences, General, check "Connected Servers"

3. :(

1) Yeah, I already did that - the part in the link. Super intuitive, Apple. 'Display as Folder' doesn't make the folder open when clicked - it just keeps the folder icon from trying to update when the folder contents change.

2) Awsome. Hadn't seen that. Well played.

Yeah.
