I got a new modem! WOOT!

After my old modem had a run in with some lightening last week I had to run out and get a new one. Well blessing in disguise, I thought I just had a crappy phone line before with my bad download speeds, but this modem is currently downloading the CS 1.4 patch at a steady 5.45 KB/sec. WOOT!

I really am happy over this. My old (very old) modem could get good speed but it took an incredible amount of tweaking to get it to. And over the past month or so it kept getting slower and slower. I thought it was from a cut & patch job they had done to the line or an overcrowded ISP. But I guess the modem was just giving up the ghost because eventhough I had the phone line going through a surge protector when the lightening hit it was enough to finish it off. The best part of this new modem is I pretty much just plugged it in and started rocking.
