After the blizzard last week (I'm south of Denver) my car (2003 Dodge Neon) and my wife's (2005 MINI Cooper) were pretty much useless as we had about 18" of snow where I live and they didn't plow our neighborhood. So we took the initiative and traded in my Neon and picked up a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2-Door.

It has...

18" Wheels with 32" tires
Freedom Top (Hardtop with removable panels)
It is a 6-Speed (Wouldn't have it any other way)
Dana 44 rear w/limited Slip
Infinity Sound System (Which actually sound really good)

My initial impressions were that this Jeep is a huge jump in ride comfort compared with the previous generation and it much quieter than before. The short wheelbase and the live axles will always remind you that you are in a Jeep. I and love it!

Here are some pics for the moment and I will update when I go off roading this weekend!

I'm considering it for my next vehicle. I really miss our TJ. The one I wanted is only $18,000 with employee discount. I don't need AC and power windows, just give me a Jeep!

Nice! I love the new Jeeps. My fiance would probably trade me in for one...she loves them too.

enjoy it!
Really enjoy it when the weather gets warm again.
Take the top and doors off and drive with your woman next to you in the warm summer night!

Yea, I was considering this among other options for my new car next year.

Can your wife drive stick? Also, how much did you pay for it out the door?

Try going without AC in South Carolina...

Nice.
Which engine?

EDIT: I didn't know that DCX was still using the Infinity name on their high end sound system. I thought that they had moved to Boston Acoustics....

If you have the top off all summer it won't matter ;)

Yes she can drive a stick (Her MINI is a stick) I was able to get 500 over invoice (MSRP was 25700) and I had some equity on the Neon so about 25000 OTD.

3.8L is the only option now.

No more 4 banger????

Nope. The 07s are priced much better than the TJs were. They start at the same price and you get so much more now.

I've always wanted a Wrangler... but my commute is insane and we are always travelling, so a Wrangler never made sense....

Nice vehicle!

Wow, kinda pricey. Isn't that about what the Rubicon started at last year?

You know, you could have just gotten a Jeep Compass :p

Yeah the tires start off at $140 and go up from there :( but the should last for a decent amount of time.

It's just about the same as it was before. There's now just a little harness to disconnect the windows and locks it's pretty easy.
