hi guys i have a p4 1.8a philippines... my mobo is a p4s533... question is.. since there is not pci/agp lock on this board..whats the safest / highest frequency pci/agp i can go to? 35? higher? also does the pci latency setting on mobo have any effect on this? my default is on 32 i think.. should i tweak this? thanks..

Spicedaddy ~ the p4b266 can use a 3:4 ratio above 133fsb, theres a trick to it

Yeah, I know about the jumper mode thing, but it resets every time you enter the BIOS, kind of annoying... The ram I have now can't take it, and I'm broke because I just ordered a R9700. 🙂

just set your bios and don't go back into it...you can actually go into the bios but don't save change anything...

bump - for the same question

it will depend on your equipment.

maybe 160fsb will be ok ~ maybe it wont go past 140fsb.... theres no way to tell til you try.
chances are the vid card will crash first before the PCI cards.

HTH 🙂

That board will likely max out at 153/154....I built several and they all did around that FSB max (with 1.6a's).
The prob is the out of spec AGP/PCI...oh well

I just got my 1.8A from Newegg. It is alittle different.
Prod. Code: BX80532PC1800DSL63X
MM : 842169
FPO/BATCH: 3214A815
Version: A78297-004
Date: 7/24/02
Place: Costa Rica (the little difference, is it good or bad, only time will tell)
It will take me about a day or two before I will post any overclocking results, because I have to build the whole computer not just switch chips. I also don't know what my ram or mb can do. Let the fun begin.

P.S. Don't wait up for me.
