I got a my projector finally!

I have a Leadtek 6800GT displaying a 17" Sharp LCD @ 1280x1024, & my new Optoma EzPro 739 DLP projector (natively 1024x768).

I am extremely happy with the projector, but i cannot figure out how to set up the two displays running different resolutions, which is kinda annoying.

I want the LCD to run at 1280x1024, & the projector at 1024x768, since using 1280x1024 compressed on the projector doesn't look quite as sharp as native 1024x768.

I would think it would be easy, but i cannot seem to get it working.

I'm starting to wonder if it's actually possible to run mirrored dual displays at different resolutions?

Cliffnotes: How do i run mirrored dual displays in different resolutions?

I would be very thankful to anyone who can explain exactly how to configure this.

This is frustrating.

I found the nView display wizard, which allows me to configure my setup as what they call Dualview.
It allows for two individual resolutions & refresh rates...yet when i hit "Finish" to apply the settings...they don't apply :|

Yes, i can.

But i don't want to, since it looks a lot better running at 1024x768.

It seems as if i really cannot do what i want to.

After restarting, i did the dualview setup, & this time, it set itself as a desktop extension, which is exactly what i don't want.

However, at least it was running at 1024x768, which did look better.

Someone here must be running the same type of setup surely?

I have an ATI card and a projector.

I saw no need to have then both on at once, so I have set up 2 different profiles, one with the monitor at 1280x1024 and the projector off, the other is monitor off and 1280x720 to the projector.

I haven't used an nvidia card, but it might be easier if you set it up like I did and only have one on at a time, unless you need both on for some reason.
