Always wanted a G25 but I kind of gave up on it already. You know after you got married a lot purchasing decisions have to be made together and my wife made it clear we are not buying a G25 since I've already have a MoMo wheel, and the G25 is too expensive. She really surprised me this time, and I'm shouting in joy!

Whole setup

P.S. tried it with GT5 on the PS3, seemed like the force feedback is overdone and made it hard to control, maybe i need to get used to it. Going to try it with GTR2 and Dirt later

Oh man that is awesome. I think the G25 would be a nice upgrade over my Act-labs Force RS, but I don't use it enough and it's too much for me to consider replacing the Force RS, which works fine really other than AL dropped their wheel products and there are no updated/Vista drivers. I think AL was one of the first to have a setup similar to the G25 now, with an actual 6 speed shifter and pedals with a clutch.

You can use the G25 with consoles and a PC? The Force RS was suppose to be like that, where you could buy the "engine" cartridges for different systems for pretty cheap, but they never ended up really doing that, after saying they would.

The shifter feels real enough for me, I don't know how the clutch works yet coz there's no mechanism to prevent you from shifting without engaging the clutch.

btw my wife said she got it for half off MSRP from a friend who worked at Logitech with employee disc

I love my G25. It's so awesome playing it in GT5 prologue. To get the clutch working, you press the top-most button on the shifter while the race is loading and about to start.

I thought the shifter felt a bit too flimsy compared to the build quality of the wheel.

that would be awesome if my living room is big enough. My little table is not adjustable and the driving position feels too weird.

Yeah it takes too little effort to shift, but at least the stick is made of steel and won't break easily.

I've never cared for any of Logitech's force feedback products. Their force feedback flightstick was a disaster.

Walmart.
We bought it for eating in front of the TV. The wheel fits nicely, but its feet are small so it's not very stable.

Nice, I'm trying to save up for one now.
I'm using the DFP with the act labs shifter and a logitech joystick as a clutch now :p
It works, but I'd really like better pedals.

How do you think GT5 compares with GTR2 in terms of realism? Sound? Let me know after you try it.
Do you play richard burns rally? :)

edit: btw your wife is awesome
