Too bad slotted rotors wear fscking fast and warp in about 1/3 the time of regular rotors.

hey im excited man!! :p
spent a decent buck on those

ok so the old ones needed to be replaced?
why not save money and get new stock ones?

Cause then he'd have to drill pointless holes in them himself

ok ok so its not the MOST exciting thing in the world. but i was pleasantly surprised that they are brembo brakes. i ordered them from ECStuning.com and they sell them as ECS brakes. I guess they take brembo brakes and slot/drill them.

i dunno. good question. i asked that myself after i ordered them

and i spoke with brembo...they say cross drilled brakes is not that likely to warp if you dont race with em...and i dont plan on racing

Mm... Sorry to burst your bubble, but enjoy stress fractures from the cross-drilled rotors. Hope you don't race at all, or have deep pockets to replace those.

i think my engine will die b4 my brakes do if i autocross. my car is quick enuff for the roads.....but i'm not dumb or naive enuff to even think my car has any chance at autocross

I am going to put single piston disk brakes on my Valiant, prob this fall.

The stock drum brakes are just not good enough!

well my stock rotors are rusted out and wearing thin. so i HAD to get new rotors. Dealer was gonna charge me more for stock rotors than what i paid for these. but "show" is a factor, yes

edit: also these rotors are lighter than stock. stock rotors weigh 17lbs each. these ones are around 14lbs each. so they should save me a pretty penny on gas mileage while giving my car a little more go (it is said that 1 lb of unsprung weight equals to around 10 lbs of sprung weight)

what kind of car?

VW GTI VR6
maybe later i will upgrade my brake lines to steel ones

It doesn't take a high-powered car to be a very fast road racer. Driver talent is the biggest factor in a lot of instances.

thank you. finally someone on my side!!
if they were normal ECS brakes i wouldnt be so excited. the only reason im posting this is cuz them being Brembo just puts a big smile on my face! I always thought Brembo to be elite in the brake world....and now i own part of that eliteness

looks good.

they are genuine brembo discs, but they have been drilled and slotted by a third party and not by brembo, just fyi. Brembo makes drilled or slotted rotors (they either make one or the other as far as I know they don't make a slotted and drilled),

The real brembro slotted or drilled rotors are cadium plated, and have a gold/brass/bronze color to them, not silver like your pics show, more like these: Text.

well ECS claims that their brakes are cadmium coated. we'll see over time if they rust or not. ECS gurantees that these rotors wont rust
