Do you still have the system specs that came with your system? If not, is there any way you can find out for sure in system information in the Control Panel?

Word to the wise... if you're simply upgrading from 256mb to 512mb (for example) by filling up an empty RAM slot, then I would buy the exact same RAM stick as you have in there now to avoid stability/performance issues. That means same size, manufacturer, and model stick.

If you're going to replace what you curently have in there with different RAM altogether, then never mind :)

esquire, your RAM is definitely PC2700.

I would just pull that ole 128MB RAM stick out of there and replace it with some better 2700 RAM.

Try and get 512MB in there if you can afford it. How many RAM slots do you have on that motherboard?

Okay, and chances are that's an Intel mobo in there as well, so....

1) With 2 slots, you're most likely only able to max out at 512MB of RAM, so buy two 256MB sticks.
2) Try and find out what model Intel motherboard you have (are there any stickers on the mobo itslef that tell you what model it is?).
3) Go to Intel's website, search the motherboard section for your model, then click on the link for "tested memory".

You should be able to find a list of all PC2700 RAM that has been tested and/or certified to be used with your board.

If you can't find out what model your motherboard is, then you should at least be safe with Kingston RAM... that's usually guaranteed to work with all Intel mobos.
