In an attempt to save money, I have opened up a debit card accounnt. It seems whenever I have loose change, or something, I have to spend it. This way, I won't spend the little cash that I SHOULD be saving. It sounds like a stupid idea, but, I cannot save my money. What do you think? Think I should try something else? ;)

Sounds like a good idea. I should do the same thing but then I would just charge everything.

One word of advise, I don't know if you got one of the mastercard debit cards, but if you did then don't use it over the web. If your number gets stolen then they can just charge up your account and you actual lose all the money in it. You can get it back, but it takes awhile and for someone like me who doesn't have alot of money, it would be nasty.

Nope, don't worry about that one, just a regular bank debit card, hope it works :)

Gotta run it like a checking account though, keeping records of everything you spend. This is difficult for some people and some have said they get in more trouble with those things, than a regular check book. :Q

I would probably spend just as much money with a debit card as I would with cash. Might even be tempted to spend it faster.....

I have a credit card and I gotta tell ya, the temptation to spend beyond my means is strong:Q, but I usually resist:) -kd5-

hehe
I feel whenever I have cash, I have to spend it, I don't treat the debit card as cash though, that's where I hope I save..

Good luck - I got a debit card, and now it doesn't seem like "money". I'm spending more than before. Maybe it just seems that way :)
