Thanks....I said that same thing just last year and decided that I'm not getting any younger (I'm 22). :p So I went to the credit union and signed on the dotted line.

1992 Sunbird Corsair 175 (17.5')
OMC Cobra 3.0 I/O

It has an AM/FM radio and 2 speakers which I will eventually bump up to a cd player, add 2 to 4 more speakers for the bow, and I'll have to get a depth finder for it eventually too. Other than that, there isn't much else that I'd do to this boat. ;)

Nice!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it? Also, has it ever been run in salt water?

Nice boat, my family has a nice one as well. However there is the problem with that type of boat and that is because its a bizatch to maintain with the exposed seats. Make sure you keep the cover on regardless of weather and everything!

Good Luck

Reminds me of my summer job. I worked at a fence company, and in the back of the yard, there was a little open space. One of the owners good personal friends bought a boat (30'+ with a cabin), but all he wanted out of it was the engines. So, it got trucked to the yard, and the supervisor took it off the flatbed with our forklift. Of course, the forks werent set up for a boat, so he just stuck them through the sides. It was a funny sight to see a large boat like that getting offloaded so roughly

For those wondering how much that puppy was: It's retail is $4500, but I talked them down to $3800.

The condition of the boat is very impressive and the engine had no flaws from what I could tell. It probably has around 200 hours on it. There are a couple of dings here and there, but hey....it adds character. I think my fam is going to be impressed by my ability to spot a good deal when I see one. ;) This boat is worth every bit of the $4500.

I have a 1994 Chaparral SL 180 Limited. I have the same motor as you. Our boats are pretty close to the same except I have a Captains seat on the drivers side. You will love it. Mine is for sale now. I am asking $5000. So you got a good deal. Mine is still valued at around $7-8000.

Heh... first, congrats! Second... I think my parents would kick my @$$ if I just bought a boat like that without talking to them about it first... and I'm 25 and live in my own house... it's just one of those unnecessary things... not like a car, ya know? My dad would so be against it... ;)

But CONGRATS!

Well, thanks for the pics, but it's just not right to see a boat and no babes in bikini's along for the ride. ;) What State do you live in?

Tennessee....lotsa lakes. My apartment is only about a block or so from the Tennessee River as the crow flies. I've already got plans for this boat for the weekend. ;)
