I got a Athlon 3200+ in my 2500+ boxe ?

I bought an Athlon XP 2500+ with 333 FSB, well that's what my invoice and the boxe says, but when I use a diagnostic tool like Asus, AIDA32 or Free Diagnose, they all say I have a Barthon 3200+

Is there a way I can be sure what kind of CPU I have ? Can the diagnotic be wrong ?

Thanks

If you're FSB is set to 200MHz, your BIOS, Windows and other tools will detect your XP2500+ CPU as an XP3200+ one.

XP2500+ = 166 * 11 = 1.83GHz
XP3200+ = 200 * 11 = 2.2GHz

So if you're running it on the 200MHz FSB, you're overclocking your XP2500+ to XP3200+ speeds. But if you really got a real XP3200+, good stuff! 😀

But if you need to check, as said by hominid skull, you have to look at the black sticker on the CPU.

Yep, even the stock HSF holds my 2500+ to 42C when OC'd to 3200+. I'm sure his FSB is set to 200...
