I heard that Abit is not charging you $25 if you have this kind of defective mb to send back for swap or repairs.

Is this true?

is it really? i have a se6/p3700@933 setup that died on me last year due to the caps failing. would be nice to resurrect the thing...

that happens to Abits a lot.. and some older MSI's apparently too.

I've heard of that also happening to KA7's. (old school as well)

you can probably just de-solder the CAP if you are careful and replace with the correct one. (I'd try it myself, it's an old board anyways)

Kinda off topic, but has anyone used 133FSB in the BE-6? I am donating one to a friend with a 100fsb 750 in it. Seeing that the new celeron is only about 25% faster than a 1ghz p3, upgrading to a P3 1.2 (1.3?) ghz might be a good upgrade path for the future.

edit:

assuming the capacitors don't explode in the next 6 months or so....
