Hehe... I hit 9052 in 3D Mark 2001:

Not bad eh? I know it's not the best, but I'm now in the TOP 100! Out of 200,000 plus posted.

Soyo Dragon Plus motherboard (KT266A)
AthlonXP 1800+ @ 1700mhz 1.75v (11.5 x 148mhz)
Leadtek GeForce 3 TDH @ 248 core and 550 memory
256 megs of Nanya PC2400 DDR @ CL2, 4 way, Turbo, max.
Windows ME, newest via 4 in 1's, and the Det 22.40

Can't wait to get this CPU unlocked and really start pushing it up!

I got an 8700 with my radeon 8500 right out of the box. No IQ tweaks. Just OCed the card to 295/295. I have an Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.53. I think I could exceed 9000 with some minimal futzing around. But I presume 9000 is a great score for a GF3. Haven't had much experience with 3dmk.

radeon's are just getting better everyday, eh? i might have to sell my ti200, please someone convince me i should keep my ti200, do you think maybe nvidia is working on some new drivers?

Yup, it's actually defualt. Some will say 24 bit Z buffer!?!?! Cheater!!! But look at every other score at mad onion. You'll see they're all like that. A bug maybe? Who knows. Again, this is running at defualt.

As for the OS, yes crappy... but, it's actually just for testing. I have WinXP Pro and Win 2000 Server as my real OS's.

Yes, the Radeon's are scoring realy high right out of the box... mostly becuase of throughput. If you compare my score with yours, you'll see I murder the Radeon on most of the heavy DirectX 8 tests... mainly nature, I should be about 30fps more then any Radeon. The GeForce 3 is able to pump higher numbers on the higher image quality tests, and the 8500's score higher on the low image quality tests... like I said, throughput, not horsepower.

"But I presume 9000 is a great score for a GF3" as for that, if you look at the highest scores ever posted at Madonion, you'll see they are ALL geforce 3's. Not the 8500's. The GeForce 3's scale better with extreme overclocking... CPU, FSB, Memory. All these things speed the GeForce 3 way up, while the 8500 doesn't move much.

truely though... if your system does 8000 or 10,000 you won't notice any real difference on and of today's games. So good score for both of us!

I lucked out on this one. I got a Leadtek GeForce 3 TDH Rev. B. The Rev. B's are very good overclockers, and I've heard that the Rev. B's are Leadtek's Ti500 but they've just clocked them slower to sell as a geforce 3.

Right out of the box, with stock cooling, I can 248 core and 550 memory. With small artifacts I can do 255 core and 555 memory. Again, stock cooling. I'm sure if I got some good copper coolers, I could hit 260 core and 560 memory. But, I don't want to void my warrenty.

Hehe... funny thing about it is that I got the full boxed Leadtek for $159.99 shipped! MWuhahahaha... good deal, eh?

YEP...I guess i got one of the first batches of GF3s... a morpheus... oh well... not bad... but daaaamnnn... thats faster than a Ti500...
