I get the feeling these stupid yahoo click-through list articles might not be entirely reliable

It's odd, Ice T is a veteran, and was in the 25th Infantry in Hawaii, but it was 1977 that he joined.
Similarly, the entry on Jones is mostly right, but he was commissioned in 1953 (after the Korean war ended) and discharged in 1955.
So yeah, AI slop is probably right.

I just now want to hear this 1900s gangsta rap that I somehow missed. Also curious what happened in the hitherto undocumented first 15 years of the Korean war.

Only clicked on it in the first place because it made me think of Harvey Keitel, only I then found I couldn't for the life of me remember his name ("that guy, was in Pulp Fiction, and Bad Lieutenant, wasn't he a marine who served in the Lebanon? What the hell was his name?"). Bugged me so much that his name had disappeared from my brain that I clicked in the hope he'd be mentioned - and he wasn't even in the list.
