First off here are my specs.

4400x2@2.4GHz
8800GTS 640MB
2GB of Ram
160GB HD
Vista
22" Widescreen

Now I should be able to play this game maxed out @ 1680x1050 judging by the performance everyone else is getting but its not the case. When I play I just cannot get above 30 fps in outdoor environments. Its like its capped or something. And just for kicks I turned the resolution down all the way to 1024x768 and I had NO change in frame rates. I turned off AA...NO change in frame rate. I have the latest drivers from nvidia (they are betas though..) Does anyone know what the problem could be? This is just driving me up the wall.

What drivers are you using ? I don't know if there is any relevance, But I was using the 163.44's and my average frame rate was 5.

I updated to 163.77's and now I get an average of 40-55 or there abouts at 1440x900 res with all settings up. And I only have one gig of ram.

Edit: And another thing, did you let the install of the game ( reinstall ) DirectX ? On my initial install, I skipped that part since I already had it installed. But talking to my dad, when he skipped it, the game didn't know where to look for the DX files. So I reinstalled the game, let it reinstall DX9 and updated the drivers, and all is sweet. Just a little FYI.

Ive got insane preformance. A solid 80+. Q6600, 8800GTX, 4GB, Vista. You shouldn't be experiencing all of this trouble with your specs.

I have no clue!!
I wish I could help.
It runs great on both of my systems with everything maxed out I never drop below 80+ frames..
Maybe try turning AA off and Vsync off oh and turn body count to low and maybe try turning shadows to low or off??
