I get sleepy when I lie down

So I ingested some alcoholic beverages and it seems to have slowed down my brain activity. Should I be concerned about this?

Is it a sign that I need more sleep or perhaps I am not getting enough deep sleep time?

When I was younger, I was amazed at how my dad could fall asleep within 10 minutes of laying down on the couch. I thought to myself how the heck does he fall asleep so fast.

Today, I'm 40 years young, I have 3 girls, and I work 9 hours a day. I now understand how he could fall asleep any time he laid down on the couch.

its a conditioned response. its also why you shouldnt get used to studying while laying down, because it sends a conflict to your brain about the matter at hand. either youre tired, laying down trying to sleep (normal) or youre trying to study and stay awake. your bod gets confused and doesnt work well on either case.

It's learned behavior; subconscious response. Pavlov's Dogs, anyone?

I get sleepy when I read. Pretty much auto sleep there, 3 pages=nap. I can lay down and not be tired, I watch TV laying down. I guess I pay for it when I try to sleep and can't get there for an hour.
