I get no sound in windows 2000

I just finished installing everything and the startup sound works, but I can't get a CD to play or anything. I checked all the audio levels in the volume control panel. I have a sound blaster live plat. and I would like it to work.

I had the same problem when I installed drivers that were included with a SB Live! Platinum on a Windows 2000 machine. I ended up downloading the latest W2K drivers from Creative's web site. The newer drivers worked fine.

Also, I was using an Asus A7V mobo...I just noticed that you have the same board.
