I had this exact same problem two days ago, so I stuck another lan card in, SAME THING. Internet would work fine, then I go to sleep, turn my computer back on, and it won't work. So I stick another NIC in, still won't work.

Next step, I format. After the format, INTERNET works fine! Yay! So everything is good till I go to sleep and turn my computer off.
--I get up this morning and internet is yet again not working on my computer. W.T.F.

My roommates and I are connected into the same switch that is connected to the internet, and they both still have internet. It is only me that is losing it.

My first thought was that my NIC sucked, but I put another in there and still couldn't get internet. I can't go formatting everyday..

when you go to sleep (I assume you mean yourself), and you turn your machine back on (did you turn it off, or did it suspend or hibernate?), could you clarify?

You use DHCP, or static addressing?

if you open up a command prompt, and do 'ipconfig /all' , what addresses are you leased?

If you have a cable modem, try turning it off for like 10 mins, and turning it back on. Some of the modems marry the MAC address to an IP, and cause trouble. Switching network cards would make the problem even worse, but rebooting the modem should fix your problem.
