I get an error everytime I try to burn a dvd

I thought it was my burner, so I go buy a new one and it is doing the same thing. I use DVD Shrink to burn and after it encodes and starts to burn the process fails. Here is my log.

1) NEVER use DVDShrink to burn DVDs. It's a great piece of software for transcoding, but NOT for burning. Use Nero instead!
2) What brand of blank discs?

I have Nero 7 premium,, but only use it for cd's. Will it give the same options to remove stuff form the dvd to shrink it?

I don't remember DVD Shrink having a built-in burning utility. DVD Shrink does interface with Nero for burning purposes. OP can you clarify whether you're already using Nero to burn DVDs?

Heres something you can try.

1. In DVD Shrink backup the disc to hard drive so that it will put all the *.vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder (make sure to have the option box checked to have this done).

2. Use Nero's DVD video option and import those files into the appropriate folder. Give it the proper label and burn away.

DVD movie disc is essentially a data disc with the following folder structure (as viewed from the root):

\AUDIO_TS
\VIDEO_TS <-----this is where all your extracted files should go into

BINGO!

Alternatively, you could have DVDShrink output to an .iso file and burn it with IMGBurn OR Nero...

I have to agree as well. DVD-Shrink rips the files, and just use Nero to burn. Remember what AnitaPeterson said above, put all the extracted files into the "Video_TS" folder, and burn away.

I use Cyberlink DVD Solution which has Nero 6.0, Power DVD and Power Producer Gold.
The Power Producer Gold does my DVD movies, Right to Disk, Edit disk and Utilities.
It came with my LG burner. I burn my movie, and pop it into any DVD player and volia!, instant playback.

Your DVD authoring program might be corrupted so a repair maybe in order or re-installation.
http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html says DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD discs.
DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero.

Amplifying AnitaPeterson's recommendation:

After you rip, before you DVD Shrink, run that little clean-up application on the ripped files called FixVTS (find on google). Set it for "entire DVD," "in place," "no backup."

In DVD Shrink go into Edit / Preferences / File I/O tab, and clear the check mark from Enable Burning With Nero.

Have DVD Shrink send the Backup to a hard disk file.

Then when you manually open Nero, set it to burn a video DVD at a real slow speed, I use 4X (5,540 KB/s).

The thing that really makes the difference for me as to whether I get any burning errors is this: While DVD Shrink is making the backup file, and while Nero is burning, DON'T USE YOUR COMPUTER IN ANY WAY. No e-mail, no web surfing, just don't touch it at all. I shut down most background services too, & turn off DSL modem. Seems to help.

You have it within you!
