I don't want to "run like hell." If all I played were old games like the ones you mentioned, I wouldn't be wanting this upgrade.
I'm just sick and tired of my computer being completely bogged down at 100% CPU utilization for half an hour as I do my image processing tasks...
I'm just saying that a 3000+ really shouldn't be so bad when it comes to multitasking if a PIII can do it. FEAR and Far Cry are old games? Those are probably the two best looking games out, aside from maybe Half-Life II (which also runs great, btw).
No dude your way behind the times. Doom3 slaughters a PC that would run Far Cry flawlessly, and a computer like mine above, that will run Doom3 and HL2 and Fear all day with everything max with great framerates, will get slaughtered by Oblivion.
I have to turn some things down or I find Oblivion just about unplayable, and I never thought my 7800 GT would get bogged down so fast since I've only had it 6 months.
Oblivion will be like Far Cry was when it first came out - People won't be able to get the most out of the game until the next gen of video cards comes out
